Competency Modeling

This service defines business-essential competencies needed by employees to perform their job successfully today and in the near future. The business-essential competencies are used to develop the following career development and talent management tools:

 

  • Success Profile — a tool that contains a brief job description, a list of key responsibilities, a dozen or so critical competencies, and a brief description of required and desired experiences for the roles in a job family
  • Hiring Job Aid — a structured tool for screening and selecting applicants for a role
  • Assessment Tools — a self-rating and/or manager-rating tool to determine competency development needs of individuals and workgroups
  • Individual Development Plan — a tool and a set of guidelines for selecting learning and development opportunities that will help develop business-essential competencies targeted in a development discussion between a contributor and his/her manager
  • Career Path — a means for guiding the growth and progress of an individual through a series of related roles to ever greater responsibilities and contributions to the organization
