Skill Profiling
We define future-critical, business-essential, and market-valued skills needed by employees to perform their job successfully today and in the future. These core skills are used to build the following career development and talent management tools:
- Skill Profile — a tool that contains a brief job description, a list of key responsibilities, a dozen or so core skills, and a brief description of required and desired experiences for the roles in a job family
- Hiring Job Aid — a structured tool for screening and selecting applicants for a role
- Assessment Tools — a scenario-based test and/or a self-rating and/or manager-rating tool to determine skill development needs of individuals and workgroups
- Individual Development Plan — a tool and a set of guidelines for selecting learning and development opportunities that will help develop core skills targeted in a development discussion between the employee and the manager
- Career Path — a means for guiding the growth and progress of an individual through a series of related roles to ever greater responsibilities and contributions to the organization
Skill Assessment & Reporting
We conduct a skill gap assessment to determine skill strengths and skill development needs of individual employees and the organization at various levels.
Assessment results are used to prepare the following:
- Individual employee “heatmaps” that compare employee scores with scores of their team members, their business unit colleagues, and the company as a whole. The results are used by employees to prepare individual development plans.
- Group reports that compare skill strengths and development needs for targeted roles at supervisor, business unit, geography, and company levels. The reports are used by the organization to build targeted learning opportunities and to hire new employees with needed skills to fill any skill gaps.
Evaluation & Business Impact Measurement
We measure the effectiveness and business impact of investments made by the organization in employee development.
Evaluation and business impact measurement efforts provide the client with the following:
- Learning Effectiveness Evaluation and Reporting —The effectiveness evaluation results enable organizations to assess the effectiveness of learning solutions during their early deployment. An evaluation report describes the data collection and analysis methods and evaluation results, and makes recommendations for improvement prior to full deployment of the learning solutions.
- Impact Measurement and Reporting — This service enables assessment of transfer of learning back on the job, identification of environmental enablers and barriers to learning transfer, and measurement of the business impact of learning investment, using metrics such as productivity, utilization, revenue, margin, employee morale and retention, customer satisfaction, and partner loyalty. A measurement report describes the data collection and analysis methods and the results, and provides recommendations for improving learning transfer and the business impact of the solutions.
